Costs
I can provide any combination of services as you require. For example, if you are happy to take the photographs yourself but would prefer me to compile the book, that's fine; and equally, I can take and provide you with photographs that you can then compile yourself, using the Blurb software. It's completely up to you!
For examples of previous projects, and of the actual costs of some of them, click here.
Photography : £25 per hour
- I will take photographs, candid and relaxed, of your special event.
- Unless you have specific requirements, such as photographs of the whole of a wedding day, generally a two-hour session is plenty to capture all the images that will be needed, and sometimes less.
Digital images : £1 per image
- For a CD (or memory stick, or email, or other electronic availability) of photos that I have taken.
- This gives you the right to use the resulting images in any way you choose. If you do publish the images in the future, either in paper form or on the internet, I would be grateful for the credit and a link back to this website.
Editing : £25 per hour
- Sorting, choosing and editing photographs taken of your event or scanning and editing your own images from original prints - or a combination of the two.
- Compiling the book using Blurb software.
Book production : at cost (plus charity donation)
I do not make any profit from the production of your book. All charges are made at cost, plus a charity donation of anything from £2 per copy - click here for more details.
The charges made by blurb.com are incredibly reasonable. You can see a full description of the charges here. Don't forget to choose the appropriate currency; and the tabs along to top of the page give costs for the five different sizes/formats of book that are available.
For example: if your book contains 40 pages or less, prices range from a 7" square softcover book for less than £7 to a magnificent 13" x 11" coffee-table size in hardback for less than £30.
Extra costs
The only additional costs to those outlined about will be "at cost"; for example, postage if required, travel charged at 40p per mile or second class rail fare, as appropriate, and occasionally travel time (a discretionary charge of £10 per hour if the travel involved is more than an hour in total). Any such charges will be discussed and clarified when booking.
